Bridging to Marginalized Communities through the Cultivation of a Diverse and Health Equity-Trained PAT Workforce

In August 2024, we launched a two-year collaboration with Access to Doorways to evaluate the cultural competence, resonance, and effectiveness of psychedelic-assisted therapy training programs for practitioners from marginalized communities. The initial focus is on Black practitioners who have attended these programs, with an emphasis on assessing how well existing curricula prepare them to meet the needs of underserved populations.

As part of this effort, Access to Doorways has identified a diverse group of organizations and institutions as potential collaborators. These include the Alchemy Training Program, Alma Institute, AWE Ecstatic Mysticism, California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), Columbia School of Social Work, Emory Center for Psychedelics and Spirituality, Heart Mind Institute, Integrate Evolve, Integrative Psychiatry Institute, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), Naropa Institute Vital Program, Prati Institute, Psychedelics Today, Sacred Garden, SafeHouse 7, School of Conscious Medicine, Sound Mind, Synthesis, University of California, Berkeley, and the UPENN School of Nursing.

We are excited to share the progress and outcomes from the groundwork phase of this initiative in our next newsletter, coming in January.
